I just installed XP Home on my computer and now my DVD burner will only work in safe mode. In regular mode the computer can tell it is there, I can right click to eject, etc., it just can not read any disc that is inserted. In safe mode, no problems. My DVDROM works fine however. Any ideas?

Assuming some download may have caused this, I thought I would start in safe mode and look to either uninstall or restore to a previous backup point. The only thing I can think of now is to put my sons fingers in a vice but not sure that will solve my PC issue (though it may reduce my frustration level)

Of course I'm having trouble making that work. I think I may have to end up calling North America and Acer for support.
